Ex-Cadburys staff fundraising money for Ronald McDonald House

Hello Chocolate Queens & Kings,

This Chocolate Queen Megan Fairley, is a woman who has had her heart and mind broken on many occasions. Part of my journey as a small business owner is to keep myself lifted so I can keep growing my story and developing Notion and Megan Fairley.  I had to find some means or way to keep myself going and feeling good about myself as when you have faced a lot of cruel stuff you can start to feel really worthless.

In my spare time I formed the fundraising team called Project Hope & Beyond of ex-Cadburys staff and community.  This amazing team raises money for mental health/family health charities I am hope, Life Matters and Ronald McDonald House.  As a business owner I do not collect a wage off my businesses and I do not have 40K sitting in my back pocket from customer sales to donate.  So I volunteer my time along with an amazing group of ex-Cadburys staff and community people to come up with fun ideas and team building adventures to raise money to support these 3 charities. The whole Chocolate Queen vibe is about having a heart and giving a shit about other people.  I don’t have a lot but I am so grateful for what I do have and one thing I can give is my time and our Chocolate Queen vibe to help others.

Our focus for the month of March is to raise money for Ronald McDonald House.  One of our Project team members from Cadburys spent some time with his family in a Ronald McDonald House during the Cadburys redundancy process while their daughter had specialist care in Auckland for an eating disorder. This hits a nerve with me, as I battled an eating disorder when I was 19. For the month of March the Project Team has a goal to walk the length of New Zealand this is 1600kms there is currently 5 members in the team and the progress updates can be seen at @megan.fairley or on facebook at @projecthope.beyond Can we please ask as many of you to share our story and links to our fundraising page at Ronald McDonald House link attached here.  This would be truly amazing if we could grab some support around this.

Every year, thousands of families from around New Zealand will turn to a Ronald McDonald House for free accommodation and support during their child’s medical treatment.

I want to make a difference for these families by taking part in the House to House challenge!

The more people that know about RMHC® New Zealand, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

PS: Rusty has joined the team clocking up 20km on the 5th of Saturday, check out his awesome video at Project Hope and Beyond.

Luv Megan & Rusty xx
